Mermaid is host to a variety of events throughout the year. Our riverside entertainment facilities make Mermaid the ideal venue for hosting fashion shows, dances, banquets and firework displays.

Events in our Activity Hall

Throughout the year we host family events in our Activity Hall. Chess competitions, scrabble competitions, and painting competitions for children all attract a lively and fun crowd. Prizes and trophies are given away during our New Years Eve celebrations. For slightly more upmarket entertainment, cooking classes and finishing classes are also hosted at Mermaid.

Valentine's Day

Your only chance to jive with the most beautiful people in Kerala! Boogie the night away with your valentine at the Valentine Night Ball at Mermaid. The Party starts at 6 p.m. It’s a starlit night you will remember forever. You, yours & the music throbbing in your head & heart.

Onam

We celebrate Onam with Marveli for all the five days from Thiruonam to Uthrittathi. Each day we serve a lunch and dinner feast with 28 items in typical ancient Kerala style. Even Maveli licks his fingers after our Onam meal!

We can arrange trips to see the traditional Onam celebrations - elephant processions, boat races, fireworks, and traditional dances which are all spectacular occasions.

New Year's Eve

This is the most important day in Mermaid's calendar, and so we celebrate in style! We opened our doors to the world on New Years Day in 2000. A megashow with 1200 artistes and Miss World Yukta Mookhey welcomed our first guests.

We present megashows every 31st of December, with unbeatable entertainment, fabulous food, and breathtaking firework displays that guarantee you will be at the best show in Kerala!
